This post was meant to be about my adventures in Chicago/ what I’ve been doing this summer in Japan. But as the title says; It’s too hot to function right now. Temps are in the upper 90s but it feels like 105 (at 9:30 in the morning). Dew point is 75, humidity is well over 50%. I’m so sticky a shower won’t even help me.
“Summer” is coming to a close here. Which I’ve realized is really just saying the “3 months that are supposed to be summer but aren’t really” are coming to a close. I’ve experienced so many mixed emotions this summer I don’t really know where to start. There are a lot of lessons I’ve learned and wish to share with the world. Mostly with people in a hot, sticky situation like the country of Japan in this summer heat.
- It’s. So. Hot.
- When it feels like 100+ degrees outside (according to the weather app), setting the AC at 82 degrees Does. Not. Help.
- It’s. so freaking. hot.
- I’m pretty sure Japanese people do not have sweat glands. Except for me…
- No matter how many times you say “it’s hot” or “isn’t it hot” or anything along those lines, it will not make the weather any better.
I was thankful to go home for a couple weeks to escape the heat, see my friends and family, and eat delicious, tasty, spicy, not Asian food. Being home for a bit and coming back to Japan really put things into perspective for me.
- Thank goodness for central air.
- I will never complain about summers in Chicago or Minnesota ever again.
- I love AC
- Japan still has at least 2 more months of hot, sticky weather.
- 2. More. Months. of this weather
- 10 more weeks until this weather is gone.
- I’ve been gone a lot longer than I’ve realized.
Maybe once this heat dies down I will be able to focus on a real post. For now, I’ll be in an ice bath until this all goes away.
