It’s official, the school year has ended. We’ve said farewell to the sixth graders, had our closing ceremony, and today we said farewell to the teachers that are moving schools. Starting tomorrow, some of the AETs will be leaving to move back to America. While it’s been a really busy time, there’s not much to report back on.
The weather is warm (70 degrees) which means the sakura trees are blooming! A beautiful site and just in time for leaving AETs to see one last time. Those that are staying are enjoying the laid back atmosphere at school and some are helping those that are moving, clean their apartments. Life at school is nothing special. Japanese teachers are getting ready for the new school year. We’ve met the new teachers and everyone is back on the daily work grind. It’s been nice not having to teach for a week but getting the week off from going to school would have been nice too. Sitting and looking like I’m being productive is just too hard of a task!
I’m very anxious to get this school year going. Since this is my third year in Mito, I have big plans that I can’t wait to share with all of you! But for now, it’s just the same old same old here, for now…. 😏
